Eleanor was right. She never looked nice. She looked like art, and art wasn't supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.”
― Rainbow Rowell, Eleanor & Park
To write a blog is to put words onto your screen. But reading one is to read peices of someone's soul. To read mine is most fun if you actually know who I am. So that's exactly why I wrote this post. You already know my name so I won't bore you with that. I'm now 26 years young and I have been wearing alternative fashion since I was about 10 years of age.
I have always been interested in different visions on this exciting world. I started wearing hippy clothing mixed with goth. My teachers did not like it but let me be. My parents thought it was fun and that it would change when I got older. Sadly for them I never changed. I wore goth for many years and then picked up Lolita at the age of 15/16. I quit Lolita quite recently after a decade of wearing it. Somewhere, I still have that fire burning in me, but I love Retro fashion just as much. You will see a lot of mixed styles of these two fashions from me, because I cannot let my love for any of them go.
I have a boyfriend, a dog and a bunny and we live together in am apartment in Friesland, the Netherlands. It's not my favorite place to live but I am starting to find friends here that make living here a lot better.
I work in a lunchroom near my home and I love it, even though it doesn't make that much money. I am a graphic designer and sometimes I make art on request as well as costumes. I love it because one of my biggest hobbies is Fantasy. And I have a lot of hobbies; hobbies make life more complete and exciting.
So my life is about trying to do what you love and giving it your very best. Like most people, I lack confidence in myself but I try to overcome that by making every part of life like a piece of art: the beauty is in the flaws.
